The Ver
We focus on helping players understand the visual cues that accompany verbal instructions, so they know what to do and how to react in critical moments. It's important to bridge the gap between verbal cues and their meaning for the player. We achieve this by meeting athletes at their current level of understanding and collaborating with coaches to break down the reasoning behind their instructions. Finally, we work together with athletes to draw out the true significance of these instructions.
Improving your visual skills is similar to aligning the wheels on your car. When the wheels are misaligned, your gas mileage suffers and steering becomes uncertain. However, after a proper alignment, you feel comfortable and your car performs well. Likewise, enhancing your visual skills is like aligning your eyes. You'll experience increased efficiency and find it easier to excel in activities you never thought you could.
Doing training in person or remotely that allows the athlete to realize what it feels like when they’re distracted, when their body is milliseconds off of where they think they are. Split seconds matter, and being in control in the moment can make all the difference, and allowing the opportunity for greatness to occur. Cross lateral movement, blocking out distractions, and improving balance is what we work on in training…really allowing the athlete the space to feel what it’s like to have the game slow down.
