Thought Training

The Ver

We work on making the visual connection of what the verbal cues are, what they mean for the player, and how the player can interpret it for when those moments come they react. Again, in those moments there’s no time to think and analyze, you have to do.

How?
Meeting the athletes where they are. Working with the coach/staff about what they are doing and breaking down the “why”. Then working with the athletes to draw out what that really means.

Improving your visual skills is similar to aligning the wheels on your car. When the wheels are misaligned, your gas mileage suffers and steering becomes uncertain. However, after a proper alignment, you feel comfortable and your car performs well. Likewise, enhancing your visual skills is like aligning your eyes. You'll experience increased efficiency and find it easier to excel in activities you never thought you could.

Doing training in person or remotely that allows the athlete to realize what it feels like when they’re distracted, when their body is milliseconds off of where they think they are. Split seconds matter, and being in control in the moment can make all the difference, and allowing the opportunity for greatness to occur. Cross lateral movement, blocking out distractions, and improving balance is what we work on in training…really allowing the athlete the space to feel what it’s like to have the game slow down.
